Nobody Likes Eibach?

I've done a lot of searching in the "Brakes and Suspension" area as well others and it seems that nobody likes or has Eibach equipment on their G35.

What's the deal? The specs are good or better than Tein and others but they seem more popular. The adjustable sway bars come with mounting hardware and urethane bushings (Stillen does not) but everyone likes Stillen better... etc, etc.

Can anyone give a give a positive review of Eibach anything?

Thanks.

Tein really rules the coilover and spring market here.
Stillen and Hotchkis really rule the sways here as well.

I've had the Stillen and Hotchkis, and the Hotchkis are so much better than the Stillen.

PM MEECHIN (Dru) - he'll give you honest opinions as well sell/install them to for a great price.

how are the spring specs better than the tein's? They are all progressive so what you are seeing is peak rates, the initial rates are much softer and aren't really performance orientated, thats why few people use them around here.

Eibach specs vs Tein specs

Eibach G35 Coupe progressive springs 1.1”/1”
Spring rates in LBS initial/final front 229/337 initial/final rear 274/463

Tein H-tech G35 coupe & sedan (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
Spring rates in lbs 324/260 (final rates only, softer intial front progressive rate unknown)

Tein S-tech G35 coupe & sedan (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
Spring rates in LBS 358/274 (final rates only, softer intial front progressive rate unknown)

True the Pro-kits peak rear rate is much higher then the tein's softer then oem setups. HOWEVER, rear rate increases in the absence of increasing the front rates as well is not the path to really improving these cars. Increasing the rear bias will do more to impact traction coming out of the hole and make the throttle less friendly until greater amounts of cornering loads ease. Yes the car will be more willing to rotate, but at the expense of peak cornering levels and having to wait longer before being able to ask for more throttle. The solution would be Tein 350Z S-techs.

Tein S-tech 350Z springs drop on G35 coupe 1.2/“1.1“ (fronts are slightly progressive, rears are linear)
Spring rates in LBS 386/402 (estimated front initial rate is 327lbs)

Their will be some members whose needs are met just fine with Eibach springs. Spec wise, their are other choices that have better spring rates, don't have such high rate spreads between initial and final rates because they are not as progressive or because they are linear. They don't offer anything for this platform that has had me interested in anything other then collecting the specs for everyone to be aware of.

Eibach has no one to blame for poor sway bar sales for the Z33/CPV35/V35 other then themselves because of the price point they choose to go with. They are adjustable front and rear, and have built in collars which is something that everyone should look for. Still other brands give you as much, at a lower cost. Oem bushings are actually quite good, having owned the Prothane bushings; they were not that much different stiffness wise vs oem, hence it's not end of the world when a few brands make you reuse the oem bushings.

Rear progressive can be tricker to drive in wet as human minds are linear and don't expect sudden changes [snap over steer]...........you can train yourself with enough practice.

Now that's the response I was looking for. I was aware of the spring rates from your comprehensive suspension (sticky) post. Well done by the way.

I outfitted my car's suspension per the dealer's recommendations, although I do all the work myself. I was looking for suspension suggestions before I found this forum. I took the dealer's top mechanic's word as gospel. I did notice a good difference in the car's handling and I probably have gotten used to the steering character, per Q45Tech's comment, but I want better/stiffer.

So it looks like the 350Z S-Techs will be next. Thanks for the thorough response.

I dont like my Tein's anymore. My left rear spring sagged more than 7mm. I'm gettin Tanabe next....they guarantee no sagging.
