Why didn't you invest in brembo's instead of the cheap R1 rotors? If you're saying that you're all about performance (which it seems like you are in your post), then why didn't you invest in a set of Brembo's? I'm sure that you will agree that the brembo's will out-perform the R1 rotors by far. it seems that you are also into aesthetics as well since you went with the R1 rotors.

And since your truck cost 10K more than a G35 new, then i'm sure you can afford a set of brembo's.

Why the hell didn't you just go BBK in the first place?
I originally wanted a BBK but didnt have the money at the time so I got R1's as a better-than-nothing upgrade.
After R1 gave me the cold shoulder, I asked around, found OCA, shared my story and they made me an offer which guaranteed me they would not rust. I used them for a while and really liked them. Over the next few months I saved up the cash and found an amazing deal on a $4,000 BBK so I jumped it it.

drove the r1's for about 5-6 months now and I've had nothing but good things to say about them. I have no idea why this thread still keeps bashing them when the rust problem was completely resolved with the premiums *the boot painted black* I even took it to my dealership and they looked at it and were asking me where i got it thinking i shelled out a couple thousands. Very pleased with them and if your interested in getting a seriously good deal on rotors then R1 is the best bang for the buck. Stops on a mother effin dime!

A) Brembo doesn't make brakes for my truck.

B) I don't give a **** about aesthetics, you can't even see my rotors through my wheels. I went R1 because they were cheaper than even an auto parts store, let alone GMC, for a better product.

C) Why the hell would I shell out for Brembo, even if they made them, when the R1 does a helluva good job. I don't need track like performance for a street vehicle. Neither do any of you for that matter. Your stock brakes are just fine, and with an anti-lock setup standard on your car, all the difference you'll notice with vented, cross drilled rotors is minimal, if not total placebo effect. Want better braking? Upgrade your calipers, put lightened alloy rims on, and enlarge your rotors. Anything else is a minimal effort, and a waste of time. Like your short ram cold air intake, and your rice rocket muffler. That's 7-10bhp tops.

If what you're driving is truly the bad *** performance vehicle you all seem to think it is, why wouldn't you trust in Nissan to make acceptable brake rotors? People buy them because they look cool. I can dig that. But the better braking isn't all that much unless you disable your anti-lock system, and unless you're ready to pull the plates off, and take it to the track on a trailer, all that pricey Brembo and BBK **** is a waste of time and money.

If you really want a bad *** performance car, buy a damn Porsche 911 turbo. It even comes with Brembos stock. By the time you've dumped 15-20k into your Nissan, it still isn't a Porsche, but it's 2/3 of the way there on price.

I can dig it. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them bro. You still shouldn't lay into them like a ex con on a $5 hooker. I'm sure McDonald's has ****ed up your order more than a few times, and didn't give a **** when you brought it up, but I'm sure you still eat there. And don't be a smart ***, by McDonald's I mean insert your fast food dive of horror here.

First of all i didn't pay much attention to the forums i just randomly checked the m out. R1 isn't the best company buy we try alrite.Tell me what other company sells at our price? and same style? If you rather want to buy outdated styles go ahead we are just another pin in the haystack.I didn't know R1 had an account here i just made one to respone to your comments.Dude tell me how much were your rotors.I know service wasn't good for you ill talk to the guys and keep you in consideration.I feel bad for what they did but thier can be other things to blame it on.Get me the price for your rotors i can get you a discount. If you ever gone to R1 my car is the corolla. I can get the rotors if you want i know it was a bad pair for sure. But doesn't mean R1 is the worst. It was a mistake and mistakes happen.

i bought my rotors from 88rotors. list price was 200 but with shipping AND axxis ceramic pads came to 240. and im talking bout 4 rotors and pads for all of them. ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS AT ALL and customer service was outstanding. and what the hell do you mean "outdated styles"? the ones i got are cross drilled and slotted. are those outdated? 88rotors has a LIFETIME warranty against rusting and cracking or any other issues that come up. now thats a company that stands by their product. if customer service ever hung up on me i would go there personally and raise hell. he has a right to completely bash your company and i wouldnt be surprised if you see your sales of rotors for the g35 plummet.

I want to officially say that boingo6425 cracks me up.

On a side note: I have the R1 rotors and as suggested by Gilley I painted them and never had issues. Just as Roguewolf they offer me great stopping power for a great bargain.

I think this thread can be officially closed.

Yes, R1concept rotors were at one point not the best choice because they rusted in the crossdrilled holes, slots, and areas around the hat. However, it has been said time and time again that even higher-end rotors rust as well.

Since the group buy in 2007, R1concepts had made revisions to the rotors to coat those areas and will even coat the entire rotor if you ask them to.

Aside from the rust, no one can deny that the rotors do a good job and help with braking.

If you don't like the rotors, don't buy them. Unlike some other companies, these guys actually monitor the forums and take note of people's complaint and do something with it to make their customer base happy. I have yet to have that experience with any manufacturer.

End of story.

i am still confused on why boing said to get brembos....but brembos come stock on my car

you contradict everything you were trying to get at by coming in here and dissing OUR cars over what one forum member said...isnt that the same thing you just told him not to do. If one person has a bad experience you cant blame the whole company. Seriously i am not sticking up for SX in anyway but dont coming bashing us or our cars if you think its because of one person.

Funny how often this thread gets revived. Anyway, 2 years and 25K miles later, my R1 rotors are still good.

88Rotors sounds like a white supremacist group to me.

I've had mine installed for a couple of weeks now and probably close to 1,000 miles of driving on them. The rotors still look as good as the day i installed them and the brake pad is still junk as i stated in my previous post. If you are looking for a set of replacement rotors and don't want to spend a ton of money these are great for the price.

I'm very sorry if you feel that I dissed you all. It wasn't my intention. It just made me lmao when he was talking about the G35 like it was a goddamn Testarosa. They are fine cars. I like the style, and if you disable the gay annoying features like abs and tc, you can have a helluva lot of fun in them. I'm a Skyline man myself, but the G35 is a pretty good American side offering. Far better than the 350z that everyone waited and waited for. I remember that the old 300z's were so fast stock at the time you couldn't even get insurance on them new. I feel like Nissan let us all down with the new Z...

But I digress. I didn't mean to offend anyone about the G35, I was just trying to stick it to SxExCx for being a drama queen, and in the end, I even gave in to him that he had his reasoning, and I probably gave him more **** than I needed to; although I'm still a big proponent of R1, and just ordered a set or rotors and pads for my Accord yesterday. Anyways, I'll leave you all the hell alone now, sorry for the turmoil I caused,

Daniel
