Best Brakes for the Money?
Best Brakes for the Money?
Hey I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a cheep set of brakes, which is an improvement over my OEM 2004 brakes. I have to get it replaced soon, and I am just starting to do the research on brakes.
Thanks
Thanks

If you go over to www.tirerack.com you will find a complete line of different and reasonably priced pads, with the best and worst features of both.

well
I just replaced all four rotors & pads with cross drilled & slotted zinc plated and low dust pads from raceconcepts on ebay and I was blown away by the quailty all for $225 shipped. Now I have the brake feel & performance the car should have had when I bought it with only 24K miles on it. I had a spongy pedal that reacted different every time you pushed it, now it's rock solid and the same every time. Look em up, sometimes more expensive is not better.
You mean this place? looks decent. Let us know how it all holds up with cold bite, fade, noise, and dust as you rack up the miles.

I was thinking about making the conversation from non-Brem to Brem, but when I found out how much it costs, I was like I will have to do it later. Right now, I am just looking for something that will be better then the OEM non-Brem.
Thanks a lot guys for the suggestions. I might try the R1. Do I need to change the brake lines or should I wait for another time?

Best high performance bang for the buck is the Racing Brake 13" 1-pc 4 piston front kit and their 13" oem caliper rear kit. They also give a discount to the G35Driver members.
If you can get a set of oem brembos it would be even better but those go for 1,800-2k used and you can get the RB kit for less.

The front 4 piston kit will fit all sedans and the rear oem caliper kit will fit all the sedans. The oem caliper kit will not fit the 05+ sedan front.

I too have an 04 non brembo with the notorious dust making short life squealing 0EM pads. I replaced them 2 months ago with Akebono Pro Acts and wow.....what a difference. The brake dust is about the same or less than the OEM rear pads, no more squealing, even in reverse and very linear stopping while needing only slightly more pedal pressure than the OEMs. I wish I replaced the OEM pads 4 years ago. The ceramics are also much easier on the rotors.
