My new '05 G35 has tire pressure light on - questions?

I just got an '05 G35 sedan. It has aftermarket OZ rims. The tire pressure sensor light is on constantly ever since I got it. The pressure cold reads about 32-34 psi in all tires. The tire label says to inflate to 33 psi.

I am starting to wonder if the wheels even have the sensors mounted in them. Is there any way to tell without taking the tires off? Does the stem look different?

If they were not installed on the new rims, would the light be on or off? I have seen conflicting posts where some people say no sensor = no light. And some say that the light came on once they removed the sensors. Very frustrating to have such polar opposite postings.

Any light you can shed is much appreciated. The closest Infiniti dealer is about an hour away, so I don't really feel like going down there just for this.

Thanks

andrew

Nothing yet! Common, someone out there must know what the valve stems look like for the stock pressure sensors. The stems I have are black rubber coated with a brass tip.

If you have rubber stems then you don't have sensors. The sensors are attached to metal stems.

sensor

If you remove or tpms sensor is not installed in new wheels the light will be on all the times, also if you get different sensors they will need to be set at Infiniti so the car will accept and read them.
