Bad Alignment from the Factory?
correct. most G's needs new tires at 10-12k.. so at 19, you're lucky as hell. if you google it. Nissan might be recalling the 350z suspension soon because of uneven thread wear.. G35 owners so far, have no luck in taking part in the recall.

Unfortunately negative camber goes with performance handling and rubber bushings. Lexus tends to use less negative camber and gives up some peak performance.
Members can always detune a suspension for increase tire life by reducing performance. Just as harder less dusty pads and harder rotors can increase life at the expense of emergency stopping distances.

Does anyone know what the factory alignment specs are supposed to be for my car?

It is impossible to say whether your alignment was correct when you received your car. Normal driving as well as wear in the bushings etc affects the alignment which is why it needs to be done periodically. A better handling car will need it done more often than say a Dodge Caravan which has a lot of tolerance in the specs.
Most people would (or should) have an alignment done more regularly than 19k miles on a car as sensitive as the G. I've had 4 done on my car in 17k miles and I still had some feathering.
Even if your car is "within alignment specs" you can still have accelerated tire wear. Look at the specs above. There is a whole degree of adjustment that is acceptable.
The rear alignment on my sedan was within specs (at he outside limit) and I had to replace the tires even though there was plenty of tread in the middle. I'm getting an SPC camber kit for it even though the car is not lowered and is on stock suspension. It's still cheaper then new tires.

I have 31k on the original tires for my 05 coupe with the 19" wheels. I have uneven wear on the inside of the front tires and the same uneven wear on the outside edge of the rear tires, more seen on the right rear. It just seems though that the front tires have a lot of tread left on them with the exception of the inside edges, probably could get 5k-7500 more miles out of them easy. I think I have good milage out of my tires, but I am wondering if this kind of wear sounds excessive or if it is about the norm, I hate to toss out a good tire just because one edge is worn down to the point of bald.

My OEM rear tires were toast after about 18K.
I guess this is a common problem. I'm surprised Infiniti hasn't had a class action lawsuit thrown at them. I figure most Infiniti drivers don't drive aggressively enough on the corners to even out the tire wear up front. My driving is pretty laid back in this car since I have another car that I take to the track. Oh well, that just means I have to drive harder in the twisties to even out the wear. I wouldn't want to take away the negative camber at the expense of handling.
Can toe be adjusted with the stock hardware? Would going 0 toe all around fix the feathering issue? I don't mind going 0 toe while still keeping the negative camber up front. Handling should still be pretty good right?

Fire feathering has something to do with the excessive caster up front, there was a bunch of threads about this on the 350z forums. Something to do with the frequency the wheels end up resonating at and caster having to do with it. The G's actually have this as a very minimal problem due to slightly different geometry (shorter springs). I actually just recently became aware of this on my car after switching out my springs for 350z springs. Needless to say, there is more road noise coming from the front, which is a very common side effect of tire feathering on 350z's. I drove a track 350z a lil while back with the tires already worn and an obvious tire feathering issue and basically it was the same sort of behavior / road noise as I'm experiencing in my car after the spring switch. Anyways, best bet is to either get something to adjust the caster up front or adjust the camber so its not so aggressive. Either way , you should minimize if not eliminate the feathering. I'll b ordering cusco arms soon....wonder if anyone has em in stock now.
ps. I might be of on a thing or two so feel free to correct me.
