It just seems though that the front tires have a lot of tread left on them with the exception of the inside edges, probably could get 5k-7500 more miles out of them easy. I think I have good milage out of my tires, but I am wondering if this kind of wear sounds excessive or if it is about the norm, I hate to toss out a good tire just because one edge is worn down to the point of bald.
You have 31K on the OE tires??? No that's not normal. It's at least twice what most people get.

My OE Michelin PS1's got 15k miles and they're supposed to last longer than the Bridgestones. I changed out front and back. If one tire is down to bald it's past time to switch out.

For people backing Infiniti and saying the tires only last 10k because the G35 is a real sports car. I say BS.

Some guy with an M3 claims his stock tires lasted him 40k. And the M3 is a real sports car that the G can only dream of being.

From tires review at tires.com.

Currently I have just under 109,000 miles on my 1999 E36 M3 and these are the best all around tires they've rolled on. The factory Dunlop SP Sport 8080s lasted over 40,000 miles and the Dumlop SP Sport 9000s that replaced them went just under 40,000. I drive aggressively so I'm shocked I get the life out of tires I do on this car.

And he drives aggressively. I drive normal to work and school. 8k miles and my tires is about to be out in 3k so.

Will Infiniti consider giving me an alignment under warranty since it is known that there is bad toe out from the factory?

The tires wear more evenly the more aggressive you driver, if you don't have enough camber and you drive aggressively, you'll scrub the outside edges of the tires instead. People who have feathering I would suspect baby their cars and don't push it through turns, or do alot of highway/straight driving. Combined with excess toe, this will cause the feathering

IMHO, whether anyone considers the G or the M3 "a real sports car" isn't relevant to the issue of tire wear or this thread.

Tire wear is dependent on the tire construction/materials the type of driving you do, roads you drive on and of course the car you drive.

In my case I generally drive with fairly conservative pushing the car a few times each day and have had 4 track days on my OE PS1's which gave me only 15k miles of wear. The rears wore out in the center despite proper inflation (even 1lb less than recommended) due to a rim IMHO is too narrow and the fronts feathered on the insides and scrubbed on the outsides from the track. (I had them flipped once also and the car aligned 3 times in 15k.)
