03 nonsport to 350z revised springs

Hello,

I searched and searched and the only thing I found was that moving to 350z revised springs should lower the car about 1/2 an inch. Well I just got done swaping out my non-sport 03 rear springs for some revised 350z rear springs. I layed them side by side and they looked exactly the same length.

On my springs there were three red paint dots, on the 350z springs there were two red paint dots and one purple paint dot.

After the swap and drove around the block the car didn't feel any different nor did it lower the car at all. The before and after measurement from floor to bottom of the wheel well is 27".

So i'm guessing this is how its going to stay? I figured 350z springs would drop it at least .5" inch or is that the front only? I didn't do the fronts yet, wondering if its going to be a waste of time and I should just sell these and get some H techs...

George

The fronts should drop 1/2", the rear is where there seems to be no difference between z/g springs. If you are only looking for a 1/2" drop, install the fronts, and trim the rear springmounts 1/2".

I noticed that the top spring mount for the rear is like at least an inch thick, I know for mercedes you can buy mounts that are thinner, do they sell it for infiniti or is cutting it the only way? Or maybe get two more lower spring mounts which are really thin and use them on the top of the spring too..?

I had the same issue. The front drop is good, but I had to go to Tein 350Z S Techs to get the back down. Now it looks perfect, but I did have to get camber adn tow kits for the back (I actually need them for the front too, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I had posted pics of the revised Z springs and the OEM G springs side by side--the rears for the Z are a bit shorter, but they are also stiffer so they don't sit down as much when the weight of the car is on them. That probably makes them roughly equal in height when on the car.

Do the front springs use spring mounts or isolators at all?
