Loud, sharp *click* from shifter when brake is applied

'05 G35 coupe AT w/ 19.2K miles

About a month ago I had my brake pads replaced. Since then I've noticed I have to depress the brake further than I use to. Also last week I noticed a noise I had never heard my car make before. When the car is cranked and in park there is a loud, sharp click from the shifter area when the brake is depressed. One friend said it was probably air in the brake line and another said my parking lock was going bad. Anyone here have any ideas?
