Noisy suspension...HELP!!!

Hello all,

Yesterday I went ahead and dropped my 07 coupe on Eibach Prokit Springs (1.1" F, 1.0" R). Since the drop is not much, and I don't have much cash to spare at the moment, I decided to keep the stock struts/shocks - my car came with the sport suspension.

Everything seems great, except the fact that the driver side makes noises when going over bumps/holes on the road (I'm not referring to speed bumps, this is just regular driving). The sound makes it seem as if something were loose, so I went ahead and took off the driver side wheel and double checked that everything was tight and in place; everything was. It's a very deep yet faint "clunky" noise when the suspension travels up and down. I do not think it's the strut bottoming out, since the passenger's side doesn't do it, the struts are the sports struts, the car has been dropped for a day, and it's only a 7 month old car.

Does anyone have an idea as to what may be going on? All opinion/advises are welcome. Thank you.

Etien

Maybe the spring is not set just right on the stut? Did you install the gray plastic pieces from your OEM springs? I just installed my springs the other day and I transfered over the plastic. I hear it helps in the noise department some.

Thanks for the efforts guys, I found the problem. Surprisingly, the last thing I thought would be loose, was actually loose! The top nut that holds the strut in place was loose (17mm nut). I adjusted it while the car was sitting evenly, making sure the strut shaft did not spin in place, and problem solved. I didn't even need to take anything apart.

For those who asked: yes I had transferred everything over from the stock setup, so the springs are sitting in place nicely.

I had double checked everything except this nut, and again, this taught me to never assume
