Kinetix V4 -> Motordyne copper iso ½ spacer

As the thread title implies, I recently switched from the kinetix v4 plenum to the infamous motordyne spacer and thermal gaskets. I really liked my kinetix v4 plenum. Good gains and it made the engine really growl. However after a while, I grew tired of the noise it made. It kinda had this hollow gurgle noise. This is my main reason for switching to the spacer since I knew the sound would be muffled by the oem upper plenum. Its not that I don’t want my car loud (I have headers coming in soon and I have hks exhaust… tell me that’s not loud!). I just didn’t want it to be noisy, which is two different things.

The results: Success! The engine noise is significantly quieter. cruising is so much more ...peaceful... Still it is louder than oem, but its more of a pure engine noise than the noisy kinetix plenum. At first I felt almost no difference between the kinetix v4 and the spacer. That was until traffic cleared up and I got a chance to punch it!!! There is slightly more power in the mid and upper range rpms for sure. Its not drastic, but I can definitely feel it pulling harder.

Overall: The kinetix plenum and spacer are both great products. However, in my book, the spacer is the winner since its not as noisy. In terms of power gains, they are quite similar with the spacer having the slight edge in mid/upper range. If you want a show piece, go with one of the aftermarket manifolds. You really cant beat the spacer in terms of utility.

I would like to say thanks to zaza (avo) for helping me with the install. Also thanks to Tony at motordyne for a great professional product and also great service.

GO GET YOURSELF A SPACER IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY!

You welcome dude anytime. I told you its quick and painless. I think buy more tools was more painful

Enjoy it and yes its well worth it. I wouldnt take any other manifold over the Motodyne. I gains 24hp from it to the wheels
