Brembo Brake Upgrade
Brembo Brake Upgrade
My Infiniti Dealer (Memphis) told me today the Brembo Brake Upgrade available for the 350Z will also be available for the G35 sometime soon. They don't know exactly when, nor how much $$$.

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
Bullseye,
I don't know if you have driven the 350Z or G35 Sedan. But they are very well balanced cars. By that I mean the brakes are great the way they are stock. Now if you were seriously going to race the car and put the car through some serious stress then you might want to consider that. But expect to at least fork out 2-3k for the upgrades.
If I had 2-3k in options get the navigation system because that thing is awesome. And better tires will also help you brake better if they have better traction.
just my advice

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I agree that the brakes are very good in stock form. Upgrading the brakes from stock shouldn't cut your stopping distance by much. You're already reaching the threshold of what the tires can deliver. The real gain would most likely be fade resistance which is almost irrelevant in normal driving.
I suspect that people will want the Brembo's just for the sake of saying they have Brembo's.

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I hear you, and I agree. I have 18" x 8" SSR GT1 wheels with 225/45/18 YR Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires, and the car sticks to the road like glue. I've never driven another car that corners or brakes like my G35. It's amazing. I'll save my money for another [unspecified] mod...

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
Every car magazine has RAVED about the G 35's brakes. I wouldn't waste my money on an upgrade unless you are going to do some serious road course racing. The only think I think Brembo's will help you with IMO is heat dissipation but I haven't heard of anyone testing it out yet.

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I'd consider the upgrade. Even with the short stopping distances, I'd expect fade to be a real problem. The stock setup isn't going to be able to handle abuse that a roadcourse could dish out.
The Brembo may even have a longer stopping distance but it they can haul the car from 120 to 40 several dozen times, it's worth it.
My only issue is the Brembos may not fit under the 17" wheels of the G sedan.

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I haven't noticed any write-ups about brake fading but you could be right. Still, I would only consider the upgrade if I were going to be racing on a road course. If you're going to be racing at the dragstrip, then the brake upgrade becomes a waste of money because fade won't be an issue. Personally I think the money is better spent on a turbo kit.
I hope that someone does do a Brembo upgrade however. I would be curious to see if their is a performance improvment.

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I wonder how much they will charge for the Brembo upgrade on the coupe. The Rays wheels and Brembo combo on the 350Z track model only jacks up the price by around $2k. I am hoping for the same on the coupe.
btw, I want to have Brembo because it says Brembo. Much the same way people painted their calipers red.

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I will have the Brembo F50 calipers and 13.3 rotors installed this week.
They will not fit on the sport 17 inch wheels. I have installed the 18x8 Enkei Bortex RPM2's, they come in Hyper Black. They will have no issue clearing the monster calipers.....
BTW: My new calipers will be in RED!

Re: Brembo Brake Upgrade
I will have the pricing information this week.
Mine was the test mule.
I should be able to offer them at a price below retail (about $3000.)
