when to change brake pads

It's hard to say when you need to replace them. Totally depends on the pads and your driving style.

My point was don't wait until the factory MINIMUM if performance is a concern, same with rotor thickness [weight].

A half worn rotor will weight 3-5% less and thus run 3-5% HOTTER due to mass loss. Why thicker heavy rotors run cooler all about their weight.

If you ever boil your brake fluid it should be changed immediately as the act of boiling changes its chemical structure.........the moisture + heat + brake fluid reacts badly and quickly creating acids which attack the seals and caliper bores. Plus the boiling temperature is immediately lowered for the next time with each boil cycle.

i have 05 auto coupe non brembo i haven't changed my pads yet and soon will be my first time so i was wonderin would i have to change or resurfaced my front and rear rotors as well ?
