Do you mean the rotor hat, or the rotor itself? I'm pretty sure you can't paint the rotor itself black, as the brake pad would remove any paint that would be applied to the metal anyway. And why would you want to?

you cant paint the caliper, but not the rotor.... why would you want to paint the rotor?

but if you meant the caliper, you can paint it any color you want.

Sure, you can paint the rotor. Scrub off any surface rust and use some 1200 degree ceramic paint (or other high temp paint) from the auto parts store. The pad will immediately wear off any paint on the contact surface of the rotor.

This is an important thing to do before installing drilled/slotted rotors to keep the holes/slots from rusting. The rust doesn't hurt anything but it looks like hell.

I painted my Rotora rotors for that reason.

I meant to tell you. Sorry. It's easy to do next time you have a couple of hours with nothing to do.

How much did you paint them? Did you do one light coat, two coats? I am ordering some drilled/slotted and want to paint them prior to install.

I painted them just enough to cover them.
