SPC camber kit helping tire feathering?
SPC camber kit helping tire feathering?
i just bought a whole set of SPC camber toe kit and as well as the SPC front camber. I will be lowering my car about two inches with the tein cst and was wondering if the SPC will bring my car back to spec so that i don;t get any feathering. I read accross a few forums and technically it is suppose to work, but has anyone actually installed and see it solve the problem of tiring feathering. Does it do anything at all? Thanks

camber doesn't cause feathering. bad camber causes the inner wheels to wear our faster then normal.
feathering is caused by bad alignment, horrible (toe) specs.. so you'll either need an alignment and a toe kit.
i believe Nissan already has a TSB for the horrible tire problems. The G is still waiting.

The SPC front kit will get your alignment back to spec. It will correct the camber issue for which the OEM arms have no adjustment. If your going to drop the by the 2" stated, you'll need a front camber kit to dial it back in or you will wear out your tires. If you're not currently dropped at all, can the alignment rack not adjust for abnormal wear? I didn't have that problem but as DrG mentioned, find out if there is a TSB on it and find out what the fix is before you lower the car.

I'd like to know the answer to that question myself also. I just got new front tires because the old ones were wore right out on the inside.
The feathering is coming from something else. I just put new tires on and had a alignment with toe set to .04 which is dead center of specs and my camber is -2 and sure enough after 3k miles im feathered more then a turkey on thanksgiving. Went back to alignment shop to check if i was out and still at .04. The camber has definitely accelerated the tire feathering. Still tring to find someone that actual knows why this is happening.
