Opinion/Pics

Hey there guys,
Well... i'm back at it again.. it's so funny how i order parts and get my head caught up in something else even before the parts get here.. so this time it's just a thought. I was browsing through the after market rims and i'm seeing a lot of rims but all of the ones i want are kinda out of my budget as of now seeing how i'm beat up after the holidays and the misses is kinda giving me Shyt for getting all sorts of mods for the G . but anyways cut to the chase, i been browsing the forums and well i see alot of stock 18's with powder coated /painted rims and i must admit i kinda like em for example https://g35driver.com/forums/lounge-off-topic/195968-storm-tragedy.html . *i feel bad for what happened to his car but i like this rims tho *. So instead of settling for rims i can afford i wanted spice up the looks of the G just until i can get new rims. I wanted to see if you knew of anyone or yourself powder coasted/painted your rims, would u happen to have any pics? and for how much did u get them done? n btw my G is IP with 20% tints and planning on tinting the tail light as well so i was thinking black powdercoat/paintin?

I have 2 sets of stock 18's that I have painted my self with high temp spray paint and high temp clear coat. I choose Flat Black and Antique Bronze. Each set took me about 4 hours worth of prep and paint time. I fixed curb damage and sanded off the gloss so that the paint would stick correctly. Then painted with spray primer, then 3 coats and high temp color, and 3 coats of high temp clear and allowed to dry for 2 hours between each coat and let them cure for 24 hours before putting them on the car. It was very easy and maybe cost me $60 to do both sets. There are a lot of DIY's on here to paint rims, just make sure that you don't tape off the tire, use note cards stuck in between the tire and rim. Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions.
