Recommend some coilovers for daily driven G35 only!

Specs:
2006 G35
19" Work VS-XX with +37 offset
Micheline Ps2 245/40/19

Current ride height on stock suspension is approx 2.4 inches all around.

I use my car for daily driving only. Never will track it. However, I drive around 80kms a day and tend to drive aggressive at times i.e. fast on straights and I tend to take some corners fast.

Hence im looking to lower the car by at least 1.2 inches all around. I also do not want to have to buy a camber kit nor do I want my tires to rub (with passengers). Basically all show without any adverse effects!

I will scan my alignment sheet and post up tomorrow. Also, I've got the OEM front lip so really don't want to rub it on bumps.

For now, I need some opinions. I've searched and read the Tein Comfort Sport will suit me. However, looking at this table:

1. What is the ride height mean? Its defined at front 1.9inch and rear 1.1inch.
2. If the height is adjustable as in the next column, why have they mentioned the ride heights (-1.9 and -1.1)?

3. What do they mean by max/min adjustable height. e.g. Front is -0.9 and -3.5)

Thanks all!

well for starters, 1.2 " will need a camber kit. front and rear.

just get some 350Z Tein H-tech springs. coilovers are waste of money for jsut appearances.

With your tire and wheel specs and the 5mm spacers shown in your sig, you might need to roll the rear fenders to clear in the suspension's entire range of travel.

What Tein's web site shows is this.

The first set of numbers is their recommended drop amount for the sedan on that model of coilover, they also corner weighed the car at that drop btw.

The other numbers show you the max height you can raise that end of the car and the max drop you can lower that end of the car.

A 1.2" drop on a sedan will be slighly out of oem alignment spec, but may be close to the slightly more aggresive specs used on the coupe.

Just to say it, ride and drive quaity on CST coilovers will be better then any shock and spring combo you can dream up. A few VERY carefully thought out shock and spring combos may handle better because of the CST's mission to deliver ride comfort, but having good valving and what should be plenty of dampner stroke travel will pay off ride and drive wise.

I have the Tein CS with EDFC on my car. I love them!! Still a nice sporty feel but smooth enough for my daily driver.

Do you have a camber kit?

I know the EDFC controls damping force - what is the damping force?

Right now I have the SPC rear kit on the car and have had their front kit sitting in my garage for months.

The EDFC controls how stiff the struts are. So you can go from somewhat soft to somewhat hard. It's not night/day difference but you can tell for sure. I like it firm so I drive with it all the way up most of the time but when people get in my car to ride with me I turn it down. I rode in my friend's 06 bone stock coupe last week and it rides like my car at about 25% firm.

I have the JIC VIP and they are excellent. Comfortable for daily driving but they still handle great for track days. They're very comparable to the feel and performance of M3 suspensions and keep the wheels planted very nicely.

IMO, with most of these suspensions, especially Teins, you have two settings: soft or stiff. Everything in between is not much change in your ride at all. The only good thing about the Teins is the EDFC.

Most of the Megan stuff is low price too. How much did you pay? If they are anything like their BBK for the G I bet they are pretty good.

You dont have to worry about setting the dampening as they're only heigh adjustable and they are very comfortable but still sporty enough for aggressive daily driving. I've had em for the last 20k + miles and love em.

If you're gonna drop anything over an inch you'll want atleast a rear camber kit.

I had them as a test, underdampned and over sprung, I pulled them off the car for resale. But that left me with a problem, I could not in good faith resell something that bad. Solution was to buy 448lbs front springs and test them, only then did I sell them.

Probably tomorrow I will measure the current gap and decide how much of a drop I need. Cant do it today because have a bad back. And moreover we have a holiday because George Bush is in town and ALL the roads are closed
