1st post, please no flames! spring questions

hey everyone

i just got an 04 stick g35 coupe and just talked to my friend who had totaled his 03 350z. the question here is he said he has the eibach lowering kit for his car and said he would pretty much give it to me. i know our cars are very similar but when i looked on the eibach site the product number for the z is 6364.140 while the number for the G is 6365.140.

i may be stretching my hopes here because they seem to be different but i thought i read in a sticky that you can use z springs. anyway sorry for rushing into making a thread i have been on here for a couple of weeks and have been waiting to introduce myself but i just had to figure this out asap.

thanks guys and will be posting pics of new ride and yeah just general noob questions. oh and i wanted to do a sort of comparison to the 330ci that i had if anyone is interested.

thanks guys!

They should fit fine. The spring rates for the Z kit and the G kit might be different. I would guess that the Z kit is stiffer.

there are some differences
there are some stickies in the suspension forum you should read before you begin slapping random suspension parts on your car

Z springs tend to be about an inch lower for coupes and .5'' lower for sedans other than that they should fit.. U will def feel it lowered tho. Enjoy

Other way around .5 for coupe and 1 for sedans.

I don't know how much that set-up will drop your car, but if you drop your car more than 2", then yes, you need a camber and toe kit (the toe is more important than the camber) at least for the rear. Otherwise, it's still nice to have but not necessarily needed.

Definitely fix your toe at least. SPC makes some good toe parts.

I have all the camber/toe parts on my ride but I'm dropped about 2 in. Haven't bought any tires for 20k. Due for rears, fronts have plenty of tread. Make sure you have an alignment shop in mind that will actually touch your car and its suspension parts.

This is from a sticky in the forums.

NOTE!: Any aftermarket 350Z spring will lower a coupe a additional ½” over and beyond the published drop amount for the 350Z. For sedan owners, the same applies to you, except you will gain a additional 1”, not just ½”

I think its because the Z sits lower than a coupe which sits lower than a sedan.
