Stock Rotors and Calipers to Drilled Rotos and after market calipers

Hello all. I have an 04 coupe and my brakes are stock. I wanted to upgrade to a performance brake kit all around. Are there any good DIY links or videos out there for a beginner/novice car guy? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Were you needing a DIY on replacing pads/rotors? There's quite a few...please do a search for it. Basically two bolts to remove caliper and the rotor comes off...and I think a 10mm for the brake line...

Yes i did need a DIY for replacing Calipers, Rotors, pads and brake lines. I could not find one for calipers and brake lines so i decided to ask. I want to replace my stock to aftermarket products...possibly a brembo brake package for everything.

I will give it a shot. Is there a brake package you can recomend. Something not too expensive. I don't plan on racng my car or taking it to the track. This would be for everyday driving. I want it to look nice yet work better than my stock brakes

its all basicly bolt off bolt on...

depending on the big brake kit you are getting...

There is no caliper replacement kit that is not too expensive.

Depending on the wheels you have you may even need to get new wheels...

Just upgrading the rotors, pads, brake lines, and fluid will give you greater braking performance. Start there.

This is a very interesting subject which I am very curious to explore. I just came back from a local Orange County (CA) Infinity dealer. My 04 G35 sedan is just under 30k and two month out 3year factory warranty. Long story short - the service adviser said that since 3 year time limit has expired no factory brake warranty can be applied even though I am under 30k miles. Furthermore, he said that to do a brake job they have to replace pads and rotors and the fact that I was able to get 30k on OEM set is very good. The news gets even better when he quoted $750 for front and about 350 for the rear brake service. The story goes on to further highs - 30 k service which is nothing but a glorified fluid flash is $784 (with exception for trany fluid replacement). IIOW assume the position and get ready for

Naturally this is a biggest load BS that I have seen in decades. When I asked him about the brakes he flatly stated these cars eat rotors every 30k - to which I said that I have never heard of such cars before (my '96 altima with 193k on clock is still on its original rotors) in my life. So what he was saying is BS or the real truth???

No 30k service at that place either - $784 for glorified Jiffy lube job??? Any one knows of independent Infinity shop in Northern OC that is not a rip-off??

Here you go. Front and rear rotors and pads, drilled and slotted for $250.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INFIN...mZ330212188851

You can get them for $187 if you don't have them zinc plated.

Do you ( or any one else) have any longevity issues with R1concepts rotor/pads package?? Brakes, IMHO, must last and perform. Being a sedan driver I do not engage in 'brisk' driving, however it is a heavy car and OC traffic can be a PITA. And yes, thank you very much for the link. They are about 10 miles from home!

Some on this forum have had rust issues, but those were not zink coated. I haven't heard of anyone having warping/cracking issues with them. I have read mostly positive reviews for these and I am going to get a set pretty soon and try their posi quiet brake pads.
