Brake pad replacement: keep oem shims?

Hey ya'll sorry for the dumb question...i recently replaced my brake pads with some Duralast Gold Ceramic pads. Since the pad came with shims already is it ok that I used those? I think the only oem shim i put back on was the outer shim that was originally placed on the inner brake pad (closer to suspension). Sorry I don't have pics my camera is broken.

Thanks for the advice!

usually you will want to replace the shim if possible. It's better to use a used one than nothing, but if it came with a new one, use that.
