do I need new brakes at 15K?

Hey guys,

I just took my car into the shop for the 15k service and they didn't mention anything about brakes. However, if I want to brake moderately hard to hard I get a sort of shuddering going on. Do I need to replace the brakes already? I drive pretty aggressively (Until lately with the gas prices). But, isn't this something they should have pointed out. Which is making me think there may be something else wrong.

edit: forgot to mention it's an 07 coupe

edit: fixed the spelling

If you need or want to Break something, then you're in for some **** and heafty costs.

Now Brakes on the other hand, since you drive aggressively, you should think of upgrades on pads, rotors, lines, fluids, or dish out the big bucks and get a BBK.

Must get use to wear and tear repair costs: Brakes, Tires, Clutch, Lubricants, Filters, Bulbs, Aligments, tire rotation and balances. Presave for shocks, suspension [rubber bushings].

These things can run $2,000+ per year [prorated]

Brakes already....?

You didn't mention what year G you have, yes that does make a difference. My first set of pads on my '04 only lasted 10K miles, to make things worse I
had actual splinters of brake pad on my wheels. You'd think Nissan could come up with a better brake compound....NOT! So I switched to Hawk HP
pads and haven't had any issues for 10K miles (and no dust) What you're
feeling in the steering wheel when you apply the brakes is your brake disc's
are warped. If you have a warranty Infiniti will handle this for you at no
charge. The main cause of this warped disc issue is poor quality forging
and installing wheels without using a torq wrench....over tightening the lugs.

Thanks Gary.

I do have a warranty on the car. You're saying that the dealer can take care of this under warranty?

I'm just over 40k on my original OEM pads. Pretty aggressive stops and One track event. I'm gonna changed them out tomorrow...hopefully.

One way to double brake pad life is to install a loud horn inside which comes on every time brakes are used..............real painful and loud while foot is on the brake pedal.

Another less painful method is to use the brake light switch and a counter to talley each days usage and duration of application.
