Raybestos Rotors??

Its coming up for me to change out my pads. I already ordered some Project Mu for my Brembos. I have a hookup at advance auto where I can get the rotors for $75, they only have the Raybestos brand. Are these rotors good for the car, should I not get these and get some other rotors? I was originally only going to get them turned, but since i could get them at a deal i would get new ones?

So should I go with Raybestos rotors with my Project Mu?

Also where is there a thread on how to pull the rotors off for the brembo? I tried searching.

Never order raybestos!!!! They are currently fighting thousands (literally) of law suits for killing too many people from asbestos. DO NOT USE RAYBESTOS PRODUCTS

Actually less than that. I am actually pretty sure Raybestos went bankrupt and out of business because of all of the settlements they've had to pay for asbestos suits. I wouldn't touch any of their products, but I never said asbestos is used in their current products.

Um you must not like pretty much all auto brake manufactures. Because before this material was banned, it was pretty much the standard material for all brake pads.

They used to, however Raybestos was one of the top three leading manufacturer of adbestos in the country. There are hundreds of top companies that are being sued because either their employee's or purchasers were exposed to asbestos in their products. This includes every car company.

No. Around 1990, new applications for asbestos were banned, but asbestos products are still being imported and did nothing for existing products of asbestos containing materials. However last October, Senate Bill 742 was passed stating that within two years of passage, there will be a ban on the manufacture, importation, and the distribution of asbestos containing materials. However a version of this still must be passed by the house and signed by the president.

As for concern about being exposed to asbestos from friction products, there are a lot of other sources to be more concerned about such as roofing and insulating materials. The epidemiology just does not support the risk of asbestos related illnesses due to friction products (I doubt any of us has ever seen a mechanic wearing a respirator while performing a brake job).
