shock tower strut brace
shock tower strut brace
We are looking for a volunteer to let us measure his G35 for a Strong-Strut brand shock tower brace. The model we currently have fits the FX 35 & 45 chassis and we're curious if it also fits the G35. We are in Scottsdale, Arizona so any member in the metro Phoenix area would find it convenient. We can be contacted through our web site at http://www.strong-strut.com Thank you, Paul (the boss)
fitting the Strong-Strut brace
How can we get in touch with him. In any case, I'm sure we can learn more than we know now. We can't walk into the local Infiniti dealer and try to fit our Strong-Strut in the sales area, HA HA

There are a couple of strut bars for the FX and none of them even come close to fitting a G. I have tried.
The FX is wider and the FX uses a straight bar. A straight bar will not fit over a G engine.

strut brace
That is exactly the info we needed, thank you. Apparently then, there is a need for a well made strut brace for the G35, We would be willing to fill that slot if we can get a test mule in the greater Phoenix area. All we have to do is some measuring. We do need a market and we're wondering if there has been chatter on the forum about strut braces. Thank you for your assistance.
seems like there is always chatter here about strut braces...there seems to be a limited amount of vendors, especially if you compare it to whats available for the Z. The big ones seem to be Relentless Autosports, ARC, NRG and the Richie. CircuitSports makes one, but it does not allow much room to access adjustable struts through the top of the strut tower.
I personally am a fan of welded one-piece designs, but it seems the G is better suited for multi-piece designs due to its layout. Also everyone wants one that can accomodate a varying combination of engine covers and plenum spacers.
Like I said, there's def a market for it, so good luck. I guess you guys clearly know what it takes to make one, so I suggest looking at the other designs and work with the forum to see what you think will be a good setup. I would shoot for one in the $300 range as most of the above are priced well above that.

There are currently only a few reasonably priced strut bars on the market for our cars. This includes the Circuit Sports one piece, Stillen's three piece, and NRG's/Richie's three piece. If I'm not mistaken, they are all made of aluminum.
Then there is the ARC three piece design (NRG/Richie is a replica of ARC), which is a titanium alloy. Lastly, there is Relentless Autosports' (formerly known as VRT) three piece bar. These two bars are not as affordable as the first three mentioned. With ARC, you are paying for the name and titanium alloy. With Relentless Autosports, you are paying for the material, time put into making it, and an actual bar that works. The RA (VRT) bar is the only bar that has received 100% positive feedback, according to all the threads I've read. I have yet to come across a negative thread about it.
When designing yours, please don't follow the typical design that most of the above mentioned have. Make something that works and is compatible with plenum mods, various intakes, the stock engine cover, and coilovers.
