Maintenance Question - please help!

I'm new to the forum and have a maintenance question. At what mileage should the brakes be replaced for a 2004 G35 coupe? I have a general distrust for dealers and don't know if they're telling me the right thing.

I don't think there is any mileage spec. on the brakes. They need replacing when they have worn down enuf.

Are they making noise? If not, have them show the pad to you. The OEM brake pads/rotors on the front last less than 30k.

I replaced my rears at 33k and the fronts about 40k. I'm not an aggressive driver.

From my experience so far the fronts should be good for about 16-30k

Pads and rotors each have a minimum thickness that is specified in the Factory Service Manual. If they are near that minimum, then it's time to replace them. Ask for measurements, and compare to the FSM specs for whichever coupe model you have. There is no hard and fast rule for mileage as everyone uses their brakes differently.

I just changed my rear (05 coupe) around 53000 miles. Just check the front and it was still good. The front hardly worn down at all.
