Brakes EBC Red Stuff Pads installation

I just got these pads to install on my 04 G35 MT6 w/ Brembo brakes. They have the shims already attached and look like they are teflon coated or something simular. Do I still grease them before installing or are they ready to go? If they still need grease, what grease is recommended?

Never heard of "greasing" brake pads. I grease the caliper guides only. Now if you are talking about the "anti squeal" goop that goes on the back of the pad, yes, I would do that.

Anti squeel is a type of grease, just wondering is I still need it as EBC claims their Red Stuff pads are made with built in noise reduction shims. EBC Red Stuff Pads installation-brake-pads.jpg

Just FYI... you probably should have gotten Green Stuff. Red Stuff gets a lot of bad reviews from people who put them on daily drivers.

Shims do help reduce noise/vibration, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to add some anti squeal lube as well. I use the 3M Brake Lube/Anti-Seize - it works great.

I used "Green Stuff" and they ate the rotors up bad. Stock pads didn't do any damage at all. My Hawk HPS are doing just fine also.

Changed Rotors and Pads (StopTech Stage II kit) in December of last year. That's when I got rid of my GreenStuff pads. I had about 25K on them and they ate more rotor than the stock pads did. The stock pads just shined up the rotor real nice, you couldn't even feel where they were on the rotor. The EBC's gouged out about 2/32" of the rotor in front. So far the Hawk HPS pads are doing great, I have about 10K on them.
