Bad suspension install...CONFIRMED! BEWARE!

A few days ago I was concerned about the quality of my suspension install at One Six Motorsports and I was told not to worry about it and that the guy there, Mark, is a nice guy. Well being nice has nothing to do with my car.

I was driving yesterday and was taking a VERY slow turn when the car made this loud noise and started to halfway collapse. It turns out the SPC A-Arm ripped itself out of the knuckle because the shop decided to do a half-assed job and put a nut on that was only slightly bigger than the hole.....no washer or nothing. THANK GOD I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. I had the stock parts still in the trunk so I used the stock nut to put it back together.

What pissed me off even more is that when I called Mr. Nice Guy, Mark, from One Six, he tells me "yeah I was gonna tell you....I would never put that part on my own car". So in conclusion, that shop will never see me again and will continue servicing the Honda cars it was made for, because when I left my car there for 7 hours, all I saw for the three hours in the waiting area were Hondas(although I think a suspension install is the same for most cars, but obviously they can't do it right)....I didn't think it would be a big deal for a shop to install a suspension since I can do it myself if I had time.

Did they install parts you gave to them? Was the installed nut part of the kit? Were washers supposed to be part of the kit and were missing?

I just traded in my tC for a g...

We needed to swap my suspension to my GF's car (she drives a tC also)....it took them 7hours to do.

They did an ok job from what i'm seeing, but the swap on a tC shouldn't be taking that long.

As far as hondas go, the one six REALLY knows their stuff, and they have good prices for the aftermarket parts..

I talked to Eddy at THMotorsports and he told me they were supposed to install the shim kit which came in a little baggy. They did not install it and obviously don't know what they're doing because after I saw how it looked, I could easily tell it was not safe. I have one stock nut back on. Gonna put the other one on tomorrow. That should fix this problem right?

That's a big slap of ignorance in the face. They did it knowing that it would most likely affect the performance of the car and did it anyways....if they wouldn't do it to their rides they would to yours, wtf?!?! sounds like a lawsuit to teach them a little lesson but that's just me.

The nut for the ball joint that was included in the SPC kit I would not use.
They have decided to include washers now but I still would not use it.
I reused the stock one and make sure they moved the cone from the factory A-Arms to the SPC.

The shims are only necessary if your hearing suspension knocking so they act like bump stops.

Sorry to hear about your situation

I am not a liar (oops, I meant lawyer there must be a reason they sound the same), but i don't think you would get anything from them except maybe money to fix your suspension and your money back. It would probably cost you more to sue them (in time and money) than the money you spent.
