Stock 06 calipers vs g37's
Does anyone know what "pot" the calipers are for the 06 coupe and g37? I know some people are putting the g37 BBK on their 06 coupes / sedans but I'm wondering if anyone has tested the performance difference?
So I'm wondering (for example: ) if the 06 are 2pot / 4pot and if the g37 is 4pot / 6pot and if anyone knows a link to a site where they tested the g37 bbk on the 06 coupe compared to the OEM setup for the 06 coupe.

the # of "pots" is not the deterimining factor for better/worse "performance". But one should clarify what "performance" is to you? 60-0? Brake fade resistance? Pedal feel? Affect on acceleration? ie.. G37 14" rotors are reported to be 26lbs. Rockalicious weight. Like having another set of wheels on the front.

And the # of pots usually result in clamping force which directly correlates into better 60-0 times no? I wasn't aware a 2pot/2pot setup could outperform a 12pot/12pot setup, please let me know if I'm wrong!

yes you are wrong. # of pots is usually an indicator of better feel. Clamping force is a function of total area of the pots.
ie.. if one pot's area = xxx area and if a 12 pot unit = xxx-2 area, then the clamping force of the 12 pot will be LESS.
Force applied to the rotor is also a function of the diameter of the rotor. Bigger rotor = caliper is further out = more torque arm advantage.
And good luck getting 60-0 times on various aftermarket bbk kits. 1/2 don't even address the oem bias much less if their kits actually make you stop sooner.
