Need new front rotors and pads

I need to replace my front rotors and pads and would like to get some suggestion on what to buy. I'm not looking for BBK just want to replace the existing ones but don't want to go with the OEM. Also, do we have any special pricing with one of the vendors?

You gotta search, this has been discussed many times. You will get flamed on here for asking a question that has been asked so many times.

I personally have R1 and had no problems. Others have complained about rust and customer service from R1. If you go with R1, paint the rotor surface the day before installing them to help prevent rust. Others have used OC Autosports and claim they do not rust (kinda hard since they contain iron).

thanks for the info. I was thinking the forum was created so people can ask questions. I'm sure someone else already ask it but stuff change and people that install rotors and pads spend more time with these parts and can provide an update on these parts.

That is a win win combination for a street car. The pads have great bite, low dust and noise free. The rotors are very high quality and cryo treated to make them super hard. They also do not rust. After 40K I pulled the brakes to check them and the pads had a ton of life left and the rotors still looked brand new.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I didn't see this until now. These rotors don't rust because they have a coating to protect them. Same concept engineers use to coat bridges and prevent them from rusting. However, we use zinc instead. In the braking surface, the zinc comes off almost immediately when you apply the brake pads. If you were not to drive your vehicle for a week, the exposed iron will rust. However, as soon as you drive your car again and apply the brake pads, the rust in the braking surface will come right off.
