replacing brake pads - help on minor steps!

Okay so I know how to get the pads on and off along with the calipers and tourque members (I have 05 so non Brembo). I've also decided to just go with another set of the OEM pads because frankly, I've liked them.

I've read some posts saying that I should hit the rotors with some 150 grit sandpaper in order to remove the old brake pad compound. Would brake cleaner work? Is this necessary when using the same brake pads? My rotors are fine since I don't feel any shutter under braking and I'd hate to hit them with sandpaper and somehow damage them.

Can you help me out? Should I hit the rotors with sandpaper or clean them. How much do you hit them with the sandpaper. Also, what grease should I use? Recommendations on that? I've read use anti squeak and don't use anti squeak....

Thanks.

Since you're using OEM pads, there is less need to remove old brake compound, but 150 grit isn't going to damage the rotors in any way, unless you are using a power sander and really dig. Just hand sand them a bit, then wash with soap and water and you'll be fine. Don't forget to bed the new pads.
