A little bit more research revealed this:

Looks promising, if I am okay with staying in a limited range of the adjustment. Plus, even if I get tired of the limited range, and my D-Specs will get old and need to be replaced at some point. I'll just get me a new Tein coilover set. I'll have the Tein EDFC ready to go.
p.s. i spoke with tokico friday and they said that the tein edfc fits on the tokico d spec shock and does work but there trying to reprogram the unit to turn more rotations. they said that it only turns about 4.5 rotations when the tokicos need 7.5 turns.there experimenting with it to see if it would be worth producing. im trying to confirm that 4.5 turns is right because then it would work just with limited adjustablity, which i could live with.

Pretty ignorant to say it won't work because you have never heard of it being done before. Did you know that steel boats won't float in water?
If the adjustment mechanisms are in similar spots then EDFC should be at a MINIMUM adaptable to the d-specs. As mentioned in post #8, the rotation might be off, but it would still allow adjustability. EDFC is just a twisting motor and motor control unit. It will attempt to twist whatever it is attached to.

Just as an update to close the issue. I got the Tein EDFC and tried to put them on my Tokicos. In summary I ended up not doing it because it would have required custom machining a part or finding some perfect part that does not seem to exist. In the end, I just swapped my Tokicos for Tein Street Flex.
Here are some notes, detailing out my experience.
- When you buy the G35 recommended Tein EDFC it comes with the 12120 (12mm) motor kit, but Tokico needs the 10mm. (I might have this mixed up, be sure to research).
- The male hex key coming out of the Tein motor is the same size as the Tokico female hex key seat (I think 5mm), BUT it is does not extend far enough out of the motor to reach the Tokico seat. This is the custom piece that I could not find or make. It needs like a hex key extension of sorts.
- Besides the fact that the EDFC would not allow me to control the full Tokico range, I was also concerned that the EDFC reset procedure would over crank the Tokico and break it.
If anyone has clarifying questions, just let me know.
I do have to say that having the EDFC running with my new Tein Street Flex is awesome, but I actually think I liked the feel of the Tokico more than the Tein SF. Maybe I just need get use to it.
