New Endlinks

Ok so Im not sure if everyone one on here followed the suspension WOES i was encountering between the install of my sway bars then 3 days later the knocking and clunking noises i was experiencing. Well i finally took the plunge and got some power grip fully adjustable end links. All i can say is WOW, if you have sway bars without these links you are DEFINETLY not getting the full potential out of it. It was a night and day difference and i would recommend these to any one. I set them about 1/4-1/2 inch longer than stock. The top bolt of the rear end links needed to be grinded off....go figure (did infiniti use the sh!ttest hardware they could find on these cars? I find myself snapping/stripping bolts more than taking them off normally). But i installed them then set my sway bar to hard/hard. It is amazing, and i feel the need to road course this car at least once, these feel great! Not to mention power grid got them to me in 3 days!

Just wondering why you set them longer?

The instructions that come with the PG endlinks actually say that most likely you're going to be lengthening the endlinks in order to make them neutral (ie, no preload on the sway bar). You are essentially lengthening the endlinks so that there is no preload on the sway bar. Think of it as though you're no longer "flexing" the sway bar when the car isn't even moving. That's how I think of it

I'm actually installing my sways and endlinks today, also powergrid, so I'm glad to hear that it was worth the $$!!

Are you dropped or at stock height and how do you tell what length? When I installed my SPL endlinks, the length ended up pretty much at factory endlink length. I am dropped on coilovers about 1.5-2". The SPL instructions said to put the car back down after installing one endlink in order to lengthen or shorten the other side the appropriate height to avoid pre-load, which is a very difficult thing to do without an appropriate lift where you can put the car on its wheels. I actually dropped the front end on ramps in order to adjust the length.

You are right you're supposed to adjust the links with the tires "on the ground" so that the suspension is loaded up. Then you essentially lengthen them to take the preload out of the spring and then tighten them just a bit. Instructions explain it pretty well.

A little trick, go find some cinder blocks. Jack up the car and drop the wheels on the blocks (leave jack stands of course for safety). Then you have essentially put the car back on the ground at all four corners, but can still fit under there to adjust the end links....

i paid 320 shipped off of powergrids ebay store, i would have gotten them from adam over at z1 but they were backordered for 2 weeks and the clunking was driving me wild. i adjusted them to the best of my ability without jacking the car up and down, i figured a little bit longer than stock would have done me just right. I will be getting the car corner balanced after i get my front A arms in, so it wont really become an issue. anyone have any good suggestions for shops for corner balancing in NJ?
