Front suspension noise after adding new springs
I have been plagued with a noisy front suspension on my 03 coupe for the last 6 months. When driving at slow speeds over bumps on the road there was a horrible popping rattling sound. I believe it stared because the roads here are so bad, tons of potholes everywhere. I took the car into the dealer and they told me it was my compression rods. They quoted me $900 to replace them. I decided to buy the parts for $295 shipped and replace them myself. It took 4 days to get the old compression rods off to replace the new ones. It was well worth the effort at the time because it solved my rattling problem.
About 2 weeks later I decided that I needed to buy 350z Tein H-Tech springs to lower the car. Now that I replaced the springs the same danm poping rattling sound is back. Son of a bitch! After doing some reading on the forums and finding out a lot of people had a similar problem because of bad end links. After reading that I remembered that while taking off the driverside endlink to replace the springs I noticed that the end link bolt that connects to the lower arm had spun when I tried to remove it. So I ordered SPL end links and installed them yesterday. I followed all the directions that SPL provided to set them up correctly.
I took the car for a ride after I was finished only to find that the sound is still there.
I dont know what to do next. Is it possiable that the driverside compression rod is already bad? please help!
