shoes went on fine, my buddy used pliers I didnt see how he did it exactly since I was busy trying to do the line. He told me it would be easier to do with the tool. So I recommend you to rent one out when you do the pads. I think I'm going to have Jining do my line, my buddy at honda said it needed a special tool, and I think Jining has acces to one since he works at Infiniti. I seen somewhere that a couple guys on here did the line themselves. I may end up making a thread to ask for a DIY on the AC line.

I don't think I'm ever going to mess with the self bleeder ever again, that was a PIA.

Odd, my self bleeder worked fine. The rear / front caliper bleeder bolts are diff sizes so you have to have diff sized connectors but my cheapo kit had them. What was the problem exactly?

I think something was wrong with the vaccum? You could hear the fluid actually going into the metal pump and it got all greasy. I think it ended up putting air into my lines since It kept leaving the pedal super soft. I ended up doing it the 2 person way with my buddy. When I replace the rear lines I'm going to have someone pump it for me instead of the self bleeding kit. I feel a bit safer doing it that way.

Ugh, you guys were doing it all wrong. What kit did you buy? Like the one in my picture? If you let the brake fluid accumulate too high in the cup, it will suck into the pump.

OR one of you numnutz hooked the vacuum lines wrong. Which is almost impossible as the line sizes are way different.

It looked similar to yours but it has a black top. I only let it fill half way before I emptied it out. As for the lines, I used a size 2 and 3. I know that one of the bolts is a millimeter larger than the other. We ended up bringing the pump back to schucks, and after further inspection, they said there was a leak. This was due to the cheapo gasket that was attached to the lid. It's a piece of rubber that seems to have folded upon itself. the rep said the fluid got into the pump due to the vaccum being off and causing spuratic (sp) air circulation? I'm not sure what that meant? but I know 2 out of 5 pumps seemed to super suck air and the other 3 out of 5 seemed to not be working. . . Not sure... Like I said, I'll stick to the two man strategy in the future. BTW' did you get to the brakes on your wifes truck?

Yeah, I threw on new front/rear pads Sat night. Then I went ahead and flushed brake fluid with new stuff. Ran the MC dry bleeding the last caliper. Duh! had to do all 4 over again.

But I think I did ruin my vacumm pump though. Somehow it got fluid into it. So I'll have to buy a new one and maybe buy a dedicated pump or something.
