Here's a pic of the rotor off (from my 06Z brake upgrade) so you can see what the adjuster actually look like.

OK so there is no way my installing new rear pads messed with that adjustment right ? How would that get out of adjustment ?

thanks guys I didn't realized the e-brake was a seperate brake shoe system.

LMG_35C can you e-mail that service pic to me please ?

There's nothing preventing you from installing new pads with the e-brake the way it is. But since you're in there, I'd adjust them. I read about too many e-brake roll back accidents with the manual guys. And letting the car roll back on the auto tranny is hard on the tranny. Just take off the rubber cover on the brake rotor, line it up to the adjuster and adjust it per the manual. I ignored the cable part of the instructions and went directly to the shoe adjustment part.

For the attachment, just click the pic and print it out.

What a PITA, most Euro cars just have a 10mm nut below the Hand Brake lever.

Well yes and no. What you are doing is adjusting the cable. The procedure I illustrate adjusts the shoes themselves.

It's not difficult at all once you get the hang of it. That's why I posted a huge picture

I was having issues with the PB not grabbing so I adjusted the brakes using both the adjusting in the drum and by tightening the cable. I thought I had fixed the problem because before the pedal went all the way to the floor, but now it only goes half way before the tension stops it. The PB holds the car great when pointed downhill, but will roll like the PB isn't even on when pointed uphill. It's an AT so I don't have much worry, but I do hate putting all the pressure on the tranny. Is the rolling back with the PB on a common problem with these cars?
