brembo calipers?
brembo calipers?
so i was looking around today and i just realized that i cant find a place to get brembo brake calipers anywhere without buying the whole $3000 big brake kit. ive got a black 06 and i would love to have some red brembo calipers to go with it. any help is greatly appreciated
do you already have the OEM brembo calipers or are you trying to shoe-horn some brembos on your stock non-brembo setup...best place to always find the brembo calipers only (made specifically for the Z) is through ebay or classifieds and then send them out for powdercoating or painting.
also i would think performance-nissan could get you just the calipers, but you would still need to get them painted.

no i dont have the OEM brembo calipers, i was unaware that there was a brembo brake option on the g's. is it a worthy upgrade to go from the non brembo to the OEM brembo rotors or should i get something better?
well that depends on your year...the brembo brake package was only available on 2003-2004 6spd models, it features larger rotors and brembo (porsche style) calipers front and rear (4-piston fronts, 2-piston rears).
The OEM brake kit makes for a nice stopping daily driver, add some better pads, fluids and lines and you have a nice fade free auto-x/track setup.
For those with substantial more power they have upgraded to aftermarket BBK's to take advantage of larger rotors and calipers.
2005-2007 the G35 no longer had an available brembo brake option, they instead went with larger rotors and revised calipers similar to a trational car.
The G37 has brembo style brakes made by Akebono and they are considerably larger than the brembo setup from the 03-04's and are only available on top trim models.
For an 06 your only option worth pursuing is an off the shelf big brake kit. YOu will probably be fine with just a front kit in terms of street performance, but most like to go with full kits so they have "brembo style" calipers all around.
You're only other cheap BBK solution is to find a caliper that fits your rotor closely from another manufacture (i.e. genuine porsche brembos) and fab up some brackets.
I suggest you look in the classifieds for used sets or save up for a quality new set from someone like racingbrake.com, wilwood, megan racing or stop-tech.
