Shocks Gone Bad??

hey new owner here w/ a 04 Silver Coupe loaded w/o Navi, 40k on the odo

noticing that if I drive around local areas with lots of a bumps, I start to hear a suspension squeak that sounds like a bad shock on the passenger front side of the car. Now this doesn't happen on the highway where there are also bumps or if I hit the occassional bump. Would this definitely be the shock or could somethin else be squeaking? and how could i isolate this to find the problem component?

Thanks

if u have a blown shock, everytime u hit a bumb the shock will make a "thud" sound, squeaking isnt a blown shock
