One more question. Do you need to do an alignment after replacing the bushings? I was told that it was necessary if I replaced the lower control arm.

price is for each... technically you would only need to replace the side that is bad, however I figure you might as well do both...

Last weekend I replaced both lower control arm bushings with Nismo bushings purchased from mynismo.com (which is Performance Nissan in Duarte) $40 each… and both compression rod bushings from Riverside Infiniti less than $20 each... had them pressed in by Temple City Auto (they gave me a deal, but typically its $35 per bushing including removal and reinstall)...

I got an alignment - but it doesn’t mean you would have to if you replaced just one bushing... every car is going to be different... it’s not a bad idea though.

The mechanic I am dealing with is reluctant to deal with this problem because he says they arent designed to be replaced. He also says it would void any liability that Infiniti would have should anything go wrong. Is he being just a nervous nellie or should I be one? Any info would help.

He is entirely wrong... show him the TSB - it's how Infiniti has told the dealer service to handle it. There is no reason to be concerned - the bushings were pressed in when made - they can be pressed out and another pressed in with absolutely no issues.

I suggest printing the TSB and showing it to your mechanic.

Mike you notice any increased road noise with the nismo bushings or with the Whiteline bushings?

the only Nismo ones I'm using are the lower control arm (transverse link)... all others are OEM... no increased road noise.

I have same problem (05 G35 Coupe) please anyone. I want to know how you replaced the compression rod. I will be changing them soon.
Do I need to remove the cross arm underneath the compression rod (where the rod is mounted), how do I take it out.

Pictures will be very helpful.

Thank You
