Brake, VDC, and Slip light on

hey everyone,

yesterday coming back from the skins game my vdc, slip, and brake light stayed on the entire drive and the brake light would sometimes go off. samed deal when i woke up this morning.

anyone have any idea about this? my tranny has been sticking quite a bit lately but i would assume thats unrelated and i know my brakes are desperately in need of a change. sounds like full stoptech stage 2

thanks,
cory

It is either 1) brake fluid, 2) brake pads or 3) the ABS sensor.

Yes, that is one of the possible causes of those lights coming on. It's usually one of the first 2 that posted but my '04 had the third one and there have been some others post here with that being the cause as well. It's pretty easy to fix though

I'm not familiar enough with the aftermarket brakes to give you a good opinion there, hun. Post up in the Tech section and I'm sure you can get some good input there. Several of those folks really know the in's and out's.

check your brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid.

Are you sure it isn't the brake fluid? Even a VERY minute difference will create the light. Make sure the level is at max. Not any distance below the line, as I've experienced two cars with it just a bit below the line and the lights came on. When I filled it back up, it went away. And there is only 1 reservoir, not sure where you're looking.

VDC stands for Vehicle Dynamic Control. It controls the rear wheels when it senses they have lost traction. When you loose traction, it will cut power to the rear wheels so you can regain control of the car.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro...bility_control (same thing as VDC).

There really is no answer to which is better. They both provide great cooling and different weight benefits, but I do know from many experienced track users that drilled rotors will crack over time with track use. I've seen them on a few cars personally. But, if you don't track your car a lot or at all, then I would get drilled because I think they look better.
