what type of brakes should i get

Hey guys its time for me to change brakes. I am looking for a cheap option. Basically want minimal brake dust and no squealing. I have seen Hawk hps pads for $105 F&R. Do you guys recommend any other brakes which are as effective, but cheaper. thanks for your help.

EBC-green is another to look into. I have HPS on my OEM brembos and I have not complaints.

I used to use EBC greens on my Acura integra, they were really nice and not too much dust

well you are obviously a very intelligent person.

you dont need to spend a pretty penny on brakes only meant for street use. there are plenty of other non oem options that he can use that are also cheaply priced compared to aggressive street/track setups. why dont you try to recommend him some of those good ones instead of making an *** of yourself?

I'm also looking for a reasonably priced replacement pad for my wife's 05 Sedan.
It isn't driven hard, so just need something that is quiet with min. dust.
Was thinking about the Duralast Gold Ceramics at the local Autozone.
Has anybody tried these?? Looks like they are around $50 for the front and $50 for the rear.

well I wouldn't buy axis brake pads, again that is. I just bought some a couple weeks ago for the front and while they do stop pretty good the last few feet before you come to a complete stop sounds like a train! I mean the same sound as a train and just about as loud! It sucks, I will be buying some project mu pads soon.

We drive Infiniti's... OEM works the best for easy driven cars... Just make do with the dust... you will understand later...

If you have some grand insight as to why I should stick with an Infiniti pad, please enlighten me. I am sincere.
If you re-read my post - I wasn't complaining about brake dust with my 05 G35 Sedan. (however, the brake dust on my 04 G35C with new OEM pads is killer! And squeals like a pig)
I was just stating what I would want in my next pad.
At 30K miles my rear pads are getting thin.
At 30K miles my front brakes are pulsating - perhaps warped rotors.
I always torque my wheels to spec.

So, what I'm looking for is feedback from others that have experience with another brand of pads. Napa, Advance, Autozone - would rather buy local as opposed to the internet.

And, thanks, I do know what I drive!! And love them both!!
Rebaded Nissans!!!

I had once switched over to OCAUTOSPoRTS.com brakes... They offered a nice rotor and pad combo, told me it was better than stock for a great price that couldn't be beat... So i did it... They re-assured me that the Centric Pads they gave me were better... (yeah OK)

Well i am driving on the 101N going to Hollywood, when some jerk decides to cut me off... I panicked stopped and i couldn't stop at all... I was going about 80, luckliy i was able to swerve to the right lane where there weren't any car and i was able to slow down... (the brakes felt like i was applying half the pressure, so ABS kicked in...) If there was a car, i probably wouldn't be here right now... I called them the next day and they told tough... Tried to offer me a different pad... I said no and i went back to a new set of OEM... Lots of Dust and squealing, but tremendous stopping power...

Sorry, i didn't mean any offense, that wasn't my intent

That is scary!
Thanks, and no offense taken.
I should have been more explicit in my post as to what I was looking for!

Don't mean to hijack your thread vivek!

I have just been very disappointed in the brakes on my G35 Sedan at 30K miles!
They are wearing out too fast for how the sedan is driven, the pedal is mushy, and the pulsating is unjustified.
In my mind, I was just thinking ANYTHING would be better! I might be wrong though...

My 04 Coupe had new Nissan pads on it when I bought it. They squeal badly and produce pounds of dust, but they perform very well. Next pads will most likely be non-oem too, but I'll let them wear out. I have tried to break them in and also took them off and applied CRC brake quiet goo. Has gotten a little better, but still lets folks know I'm coming.
