Brakes..

Ok so I tried checking out the marketplace and I felt like I was way over my head. Too many choices, not enough knowledge. I need to replace my brake pads (OEM) and I have a feeling I will need to replace the rotors as well. I couldn't find any OEM parts on there.
Can someone help me out? I have a 03 AT sedan. aftermarkets parts would be cool too, if not too expensive.
Thanks

I got all 4 drilled/slotted rotors from R1 concepts. I think I paid around $140 for all four. Had them on for about a year with no probs so far.

If you are replacing pads, you typically want to at least cut the rotors if they aren't too thin.

Check tirerack.com or rockauto.com for rotors. I usually go with Brembo blank style rotors for performance if they are available. It's what i use strictly for autocross. The crossdrilled stuff is really only for bling bling value.

Also, unsure what parts are needed, but you could do a factory upgrade to Brembo calipers/rotors or the 05/06 brakes which are 12.6" front/12.1" rear and a 2-piston caliper up front. I was going to upgrade to brembos, but for my daily driving needs, the '06 brakes are more than adequate. I may go crossdrilled however when i get my 19's for bling bling value.

hmmmm 05/06 brakes sound good. Is there a site which has them at a good price? I was thinking of maybe getting some colored calipers...mainly for looks. I do nothing but daily driving, so I don't need anything too expensive that you would mostly use for racing and such.

I dont know what your budget is but look into RacingBrake.com OE 13" kits for the front with drilled/slotted rears with Hawk HPS pads. I ran that setup on my 04 for a couple of years and it work great. I had countless dragon runs at ZdayZ and alot of spirited driving and hard braking and they never let me down. I would still have them but run across a great deal on some Wilwoods.

Unsure if they are really sold as a kit. Someone with more technical knowledge of the G's brakes should be the one to ask. As for where to get the calipers and such, prob used is your best bet off someone's wrecked car that they are parting out.

They are pretty good brakes. I was debating upgrading to 03/04 Brembos, but the car is a daily driver and they are more than fine for what I need.
