Only thing changed was springs, now have front noise

Hey everyone. I had 03 non-sport. I had coupe springs installed all around and coupe struts. Everything worked perfectly with no noises!

I decided I wanted the front lower so I had Z springs installed up front. Immediately after installing the Z springs I have a clunking noise coming from the driver side front. The noise happens over choppy pavement or bumps (rough pavement, pot holes, manhole covers, railroad tracks). Anything that gets the suspension moving quickly. The smooth roads are fine.

In my limited knowledge of suspension, it seems to me that springs would directly affect the angle of the upper control arms. The springs could also affect the struts, but many people on here run coupe struts with z springs (plus my passenger side makes no noise). Is there anything else the springs could have a direct affect on to cause the noise to appear immediately after the spring install?

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Edit: My center bolt on the strut mount appears to be loose. Will get it tightened tomorrow and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for all the ideas everyone!

I had the center strut mount bolt tightened today. Noise is gone. Thanks again.

Sounds like we are in the same boat. I just don't understand why one side is making noise and the other side is fine.

I had the dealer replace the compression rod bushings a couple weeks ago which eliminated the creaking noise I was getting going over speed bumps.

what did the creaking noise sound like? My car makes a squeaking noise like a rat when I ride over some bumps, usually on cold start at low speeds.

For my compression rod issue it was like old springs on a mattress or sofa creaking.

Possibly the top bolt on the shock tower not tight enough.
I have seen that happen.
It is the big bolt in the middle tighten it with a air gun

G, there is no way of telling exactly what it is correct, untill u part the front end and eliminate things as you go?

I was hoping it was something simple like that bolt but I have checked. I am going to check the end links again. Strange how moving from the coupe springs to the z springs made this noise appear. Very frustrating because I like the setup.

How can you tell if a strut mount needs to be replaced? The bolts are tight, but maybe the whole mount should be replaced? But, seems like I would have had the noise with my stock springs or the coupe springs if this was the problem.

Could it be something like an allignment needed? Would a bad allignment cause a clunking noise? I had an alignment but maybe they did not do it right. Going to a shop tomorrow morning. I am opptimistic that this will get resolved one way or another!

I have the same clunking noise coming from my front passenger side, but only on bumpy/uneven roads. And it started the day I got new springs installed.

I even ordered the LCA bushing but haven't gotten a chance to get it installed, need a place with a hydraulic press. But now I'm thinking maybe it's something else, like this:
Front Passenger Wheel Low Speed 'Clunk' Fix

Hmm i think i know what the problem is... it happened to my accord when I slammed it...If you look at your brakes, there is a circle metal around the disk. not sure if it's to protect from dust or something...well anyways it is probably bent. Look at where it's bent and use a screw driver or your hands to bend it back as straight as you can and also make sure it isn't touching or rubbing any other metal. You don't need to bend/push it that much but just enough. Hope this helps.
