Need advice, brake pads wont fit

Over the holidays I purchased a set of Hawk Ceramic pads for my 04 Coupe from a website/store I should not have at this point. However the problem is here and I need some advice on what to do about it. The parts took 2 weeks to process then another 10 days to ship and today I decided to go get them installed during my service stop at the dealership.

Apparently the rear pads came with shims and fit into the caliper and onto the face of the rotor flush, near perfect.

The tech who I have a sort of business casual relationship with, shows me that the front pads are not fitting in terms of length (They measure very close to 4 and 3/4 inches). He also informs me that although not required the front set of pads came without shims. We cleaned out the area again and still these brake pads clearly are too big by about 2mm. I started to question the validity of this product when I called Performance Nissan in CA and spoke to one of them. And now I would like to ask G35Driver for their opinion and advice.

Anyone who has used Hawk Ceramic pads for Brembo applications especially you guys..
