Brakes Designing a Fade Stop Brake Cooler for G35 - need a caliper

Hi all,

I am designing a Fade Stop Brake Cooler (http://www.fourproducts.com) for the G35 Coupe and the 350Z (standard single piston caliper - you Brembo guys probably don't need coolers yet). I am to the point that I need to test fit initial designs and am looking to buy a front caliper and bracket for the '03 - '04 G35/350Z. I am also designing for the '05 and later, but that will come next. If anyone has a used one for sale, even if it has a damaged piston I would be interested in buying it from you instead of Kragen.

Let me know!

Thanks,

Joe

I just posted the caliper request to the Wanted section. I am leaving this thread here though so that I can get any comments about brake coolers. The designs for the G35/350Z are extremely cool (no-pun intended) and I will post pictures when the prototypes are manufactured.

this seems kind of pointless to design one for that braking system. Almost everyone who tracks their car seriously has at least the brembo calipers or another BBK system. These brakes also only came on automatic transmission 03-04 RWD G35's and 03-05 AWD sedans.

I would love to hear feedback on this point!

The brake coolers are significantly cheaper than a caliper upgrade, but maybe I should concentrate on designs for the Brembos. The biggest sales of coolers so far have been with the classic Porsche 911s because they can not upgrade the brakes for their racing class...

I personally own an '04 coupe. My research has indicated that the '03 and '04 coupe share a caliper with the '03 and '04 350Z - is this correct? After those years it becomes more confusing, but I would like to resolve it and make a cooler for the most desired and common caliper.

This what I have found on the Forum - does anyone have part numbers they can point me towards?

'03 and '04 Sedan, '04 and '05 Sedan X
Front: 11.7-inch X 0.9-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch X 0.6-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'05+ Sedan and Coupe, '06 Sedan X
Front: 12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc - 2 pistons
Rear: 12.1-inch X .63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Non-Brembo Coupes
Front: 11.65-inch x 0.94-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch x 0.63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Coupe Brembos
BremboŽ brakes
Front: 12.76-inch x 1.18-inch power-assisted - 4 pistons
Rear: 12.68-inch x 0.87-inch - 2 pistons

Thanks,

Joe
