Should I try and do the repairs myself?

I have an 03 G35 Coupe and it has recently been making really loud knocking and creaking sounds and it got so bad that it isn't even driveable anymore. I took it to infiniti and they quoted me about $600 to replace the bad wheel hub and to lubricate the splines, labor included. They told me that the wheel hub is gonna cost $280, and lubricating the splines would be about $150, and the rest was the labor that was for the replacing of the bad hub.

Does this all sound right? Is it worth having this fixed at infiniti or should I just order the wheel hub and try and do it myself? How hard is it to replace it? I'm somewhat mechanicly inclined but the problem is that the amount of tools I have at my house is very limited.

Thanks in advanced.

Front or rear hub??? The fronts are easy and cost around $130 from performance nissan the rears are a little more complicated.

^-- yeah I do have the axle clicking problem, my car is at 72k miles.. don't know if that's normal for a G35 but it sucks pretty bad.

Sorry I forgot to mention they are the rear hubs, well just one of them

Axle click is a tsb, not a recall. It might be covered by powertrain warr, but with 72000 miles, he's already out of coverage.
