Nope just throw them on and your good to go. Are you also changing the pads too? I hope so that way the new pads and rotors will get aquainted together.

what are you installing

rotors done NEED to be resurface when replacing pads but if they are warped or uneven they will need to get cut or replaced altogether. spin and feel the rotor and just for yourself.

Clearly you misread his post. "Does new rotor need to be resurfaced"

Resurfaced? No. Cleaned? Hell yes. All rotors have a protection film of oil on them to prevent rust. YOU MUST clean the oil off prior to install or else you run the risk of significantly reducing the life of he rotor as you bed the oil into the rotor and pad on it's first heat cycle. You'll get poor braking and rotor life right from the get-go.

+100 to what DaveB said. You should use solvents specifically made for brakes. They won't leave any residue. I think I have something called Brakleen.

What happened to me is i replaced new front rotors and pads 6 months ago. but now the rotors are uneven which causes shaking when i brake. I am thinking of buying new rotors and pads. any recommendation without buying new ones?

Buy new pads(I recomend hawk pads) and have the rotors turned at your local mechanic. If you feel comfortable, continue from there, if not, give your mechanic the pads and he'll take care of the rest. At six months, there should be more than enough to turn the rotors.

Why did they become uneven? Shouldn't the rotors wear out relatively evenly? You shouldn't have to replace/resurface rotors every 6 months, or even every year.

Dump the busted ones and get a new set... make sure they clean the rotors, and bleed the brake lines properly upon install. You'll be alright then. Might be worth taking a look to make sure the calipers are decent shape too. The car is 6 yrs old now...
