Replacing rear lower arms???
Hello all, took my 03 6MT coupe to a new mechanic today to check on a knocking noise in the rear suspension. I've recently moved and my regular mechanic is a little out of the way for me now, so decided to try out this new place upon the recommendation of a co-worker.
After test driving and taking a look at my car, the mechanic tells me that I need to replace both my "rear lower arms" and that the parts and labor would run me about $900 as the parts are all aluminum. Does this sound right to you guys?
I'm unfortunately not as familiar with cars as I used to be but this just sounds fishy to me. I was thinking that maybe at most - some bushings would need to be replaced, and not entire pieces of the suspension. So I asked him if the bushings could just be replaced, he says that he had tried to get the bushings out but they were seized on both sides and that both would need replacement.
Does this sound right?
