I was thinking about getting the following GTSPEC braces:

Front Lower Tie brace
Rear Lower Tie brace
Rear Lateral Arm brace

I already have Hotchkis front and rear swaybars
SPC front and rear camber kits
Tein CS coilovers

I also have a GTSPEC strut brace on the way.

I was wondering if they will really make that much of a difference. Also, I don't want to make the care so stiff that it will rattle my teeth on every bump, but being able to take corners and exit/entrance ramps at high speed is fun.

Does anyone have these that can offer some insight? They're cheap enough, so as long as they help I figure I'll get them.

 

i just put the 4 point mid brace on my car last week and i didnt have any aftermarket sway bars or braces and it made a huge difference for me. i plan on gettin the rest of them soon.

 

so now that you probably have them all installed now, any big differences? Dont try and justify the cost, just give a true honest answer!

 

The GTSpec braces are great for stiffening the chassis.

Unfortunately I can't run them in my setup; a 4-point brace would completely own me since im lowered (rear tires are tucked), and can't run some of the other braces since my aftermarket exhaust won't let allow me to.

 

old thread lol he already has the braces and realized the rear tie brace wont fit with the Fast Intentions exhaust

 

not that old, its only been a month. just long enough for my question to be completely valid.

 

Considering the braces are so cheap there's no need to justify the cost, but they do make a big difference. I haven't tried to get the rear tie installed since the first time that I found out it won't fit. I still think I can make it fit, but it will take some modification to do so.

The braces work wonders for the stiffness of the chassis. These along with the GTSPEC strut brace, hotchkis sways and Tein coilovers make for a car that just wants to hit the twistys. To bad down here there aren't many to play on. The only problem I've had is that the front lower tie brace sometime scrapes if I hit something high enough. I have to take a look at it and see if I have caused any damaged because I've nailed it pretty good a few times. My front is lowered about 1 1/2" so you guys that are lower then that will really have problems.

I also have the FI exhaust, will the 4-point chasis brace fit? What GT spec parts ARE compatible?

 

I have all of them on except the center ladder brace. I did notice the difference in the handling and I do drive twistie road a lot. I will install the ladder brace after I replace the exhaust. I currently have the Stillen exhaust and it hangs a little to low for the brace to be put on.

Of all the GT Spec braces, which one(s) did you find provided the most noticeable handling improvement?

 

^No one brace will strengthen everything by itself. Your better off getting all of them.

 

this same question? i also have the fast intentions test pipes?, im thinking of starting of with the center ladder brace and getting the rest of them little by little.

 

Your car's chassis can never be too stiff. For the most part, everything helps, although there are some strong points on every chassis that does not need any extra bracing until everything else is taken are of first,

With that said, if I had to choose only few bars, I would go for the lower tie bars and rear lateral brace. Most strut bars are worthless by themselves unless they are a 3-point or include fender braces.

 

Do all these braces fit on a sedan?
