I guess it's not that we "can't". Just that I feel the same way as him in that I felt that the X was my best (only) option due to the weather up here. But I was duped! And now I'm stuck with my 5AT. Still love my G, but the thought of having a 6MT instead brings up huge feelings of regret.

Save up and get coilovers. You're drop has already greatly compromised wheel travel in the front and potentially handling because the shock are operating well outside their intended range. Adding even more of a drop on the stock suspension layout will make your car handle like a wet noodle at the limit. It might look good, but's it's horrible from a performance standpoint.

He's running 350Z shocks so the shock travel isn't as bad as you are thinking it is.

Running the Z shocks definitely helps and restores about .7" of travel, but if he's already dropped 2.2", he's still over 1.2" below the standard ride height of the Z and he still wants to go lower. The wheel travel on his car is compromised, whether he has Z shocks or not. The Z shocks are ideal for a G on Z springs, but that's about it.

Coilovers is the only way to get the drop he wants, but even then, the handling will be compromised because the suspension on these cars really isn't designed to work with 2"+ drops, whether it's springs or coilovers. There's so much more to the operation of the suspension than just shocks/springs. If you want a 2"+ G/Z to handle, you've got to do everything like swaybars, A-arms, endlinks, camber/toe corrective devices, and the correct alignment specs.

I know.

He has SPL endlinks, aftermarket sways and rear camber. He just needs to get the front A-Arms.

Coilovers vivek, trust me. Even if it's tein basics. You can pick those up for roughly 550 or so. It will make your car look 10x better.
