new on site..brake question

im sick of the crazy dust my oem brakes put out. i cant even go around the block without them getting dirty (i like them spotless). i wanted to no if anyone got oem rotors with cermamic pads and if not what you guys suggest on the pads i should get. i was looking at the ceramic pads put out by hawk performance.

What year and model is your G? All the 03-04 G's and the '05 X had a brake setup that generated alot of dust. The newer setup has larger rotors and uses a different pad that doesn't dust as much. I believe it's a direct bolt-on replacement, and you can often find them in the Marketplace.

I had the same issue, and I actually have a set of pads for sale, the same ones I use on my X, hawk HPS pads. PM me if your interested. Also, if you need a set of rotors, I have those too .

i wouldn't say WAY less dust with the HPS, brake dust is going to happen one way or the other, HPS will provide you with less dust then HPS but its still going to be there. Dust is also pending on your driving pattern as well.

Yeah, it depends a lot on your driving style, but Hawk HPS pads have done me very well in terms of dust.

I'm tellin ya, it might be your rotors (Just kidding)

The stock 03-04/05x pads are aggressive and cause a lot of dust

Infiniti went to a 2-piston caliper with larger front and rear rotors for the 05-06 and 06x.

Stopping distances are actually the same, so it goes to show you that infiniti needed mechanical advantage to overcome the performance difference of changing the pad compound between 04 and 05 (except the 05x)

Ceramic brake pads will help reduce the dust. Google them to see what is available for the G

I was wondering this same thing because my '05X turns the wheels black with brake dust really quick. They are brand new though so I'll probably wait until they wear down a little before making a change to Hawk pads.

My previous vehicle ('04 F150) had a bad dusting problem also and I replaced the pads with Wagner Thermoquiets. Not sure if these are available for the G, but they worked well for my truck and the dust all but disappeared.

Yeah, I do have the hawks, on my fronts I run those and on my rears I run project mu's. I have had great results with both in terms of dust reduction, however I don't like the feel of the mu's when I'm braking.
I would stick to the hawks since several people here can give you good reviews of them in this app, and I've never heard of those other ones. Just my 2cents!

I had Hawk pads before and was very happy. A lot less dust than the oem.

are you willing to sacrifice a significant amount of performance? The hawks are a high temp pad and have pretty bad single cold stop performance.
