upgrading my 06 brake calipers.... Suggestions.

I want to upgrade my 06 stock brake calipers to something that looks nicer behind the wheels... I cannot justify spending $3000 on a BBK so I was wondering if there's a good replacement caliper or something I could do. I'm considering powdercoating but the calipers are a little small. If I were to buy the 04-05 brembos, what would I need besides the calipers an rotors? Would my brake lines and everything else be alright?

Thanks for the help!

There is nothing wrong with the stopping power of the 06 brakes and "upgrading" without really upgrading purely because you want it to look cooler is the very definition of rice.

WronG!!

You only need brake lines, and a set of mounting bolts for the rear Brembo calipers. The tread patten are between the 2003-2004 OEM rear Brembo calipers and 2005-2007 rear single piston caliper.

There are a few sets of used OEM Brembo brakes for sale in the marketplace.
I myself I'm selling OEM Brembo brake line.

WronG!

As a person who upgraded from the dual piston front, single piston rear to OEM Brembo's with Stillen Rotors and SS brake lines, I can personnal say there was a improvement. Something I need while Autocrossing.

Are you kidding me? That's like me saying , "getting tv 05 spoiler on your 06 is rice because it's just for looks and serves no real purpose"

I want the look of the OEM brembos from the earlier models because my rims have a large gap and it looks like something is missing back there. Rice would be if I found some "caliper covers" that attach around the caliper for looks.

I believe your original post said:

"I cannot justify spending $3000 on a BBK so I was wondering if there's a good replacement caliper or something I could do. I'm considering powdercoating but the calipers are a little small."

That says nothing about upgrading functionality or performance and everything about the aesthetic.

I put an 05 spoiler on my 06 coupe because it didn't have a spoiler at all and i liked that one the best. Unlike brakes yes a spoiler is purely for looks.

I know you want to be rockin these:

haha there is nothing ricer about making your car want to look nicer... he doesnt need something to make his car stop faster our cars braking performance is very good stock, so whats the matter with just wanting the visual appeal to be nicer as well?

That's why the caliper covers are the perfect cheesy solution

and seeing as the brembos are a factory option, and they perform about the same as my 06 brakes.... Your so quick to jump on and say that its rice. I do want to make the calipers look better and stand out, but i wasnt sure if there was a company that made kits that would replace my stock calipers with something slightly larger and that came painted/clear coat, that i wouldnt have to worry about spending $3000 on a BBK for my car thats a daily driver, NOT a track car.

Your telling me you would choose the stock 06 brakes over the earlier model brembo's based on looks? If you had to option you would choose the brembos.

I don't think I ever said anything about oem brembos at all.

I think I said altering stock 06 brakes for no performance increase and purely for looks would be rice.

Stoptechs are hella $$$.

I would go with the Akebono g37 upgrade they look alot nicer and supposedly perform better then our g35 brakes. I personally am considering it because of clean looking they are.(Yes EncoreCestMoi I like the LOOK of them) So wait am I a ricer because im spending 1500 on brakes????
