I've got an 04' g35 6sp with the brembo's. I've ground down the brakes to oblivion and have to replace so i'm going with some black zinc coated (that i plan to paint over after the zinc wears off). I've ordered some black Brembo decals for the calipers to match, but can't figure out how to get the "factory" red decals off of the calipers??? They almost seem like they're powdercoated on or something. Don't want to totally refinish the calipers- the coating is in great condition- just want to get the stocker decals off. Any ideas or insight would be MUCH appreciated!!!

The OEM symbols are not stickers, so you can't just peel them off the caliper.

i figured they were powdercoated possibly after checking for and "edge". any idea how I could get them off without sanding or destroying the underlying gold coating?

I'm not sure if I'm following. If you are going to paint over the calipers with black paint, why does it matter whether the brembo lettering is going to be removed or not

He wants to leave the calipers gold, but the letters to be black. He didn't say anything about painting over the calipers with black paint.

I *think* maybe he's referring to zinc coated rotors?

Exactly- my rotor hats and vanes (and slotts/holes) will be black and I thought black lettering on the calipers would look good along with the rotor coloring. I'm trying to get the red lettering off the calipers without doing anything to the gold finish, then put the new black "brembo" decals on the existing calipers. Any ideas?

You could try to make the decals in the same size and go over the top. They are not removable, and you would have to damage the gold to remove the red brembo logo.

I was afraid of that. I ordered some black decals off a guy from ebay and gave him measurements of the logo and lettering down to the 1/16 of an inch- but like anything that's not custom fit I doubt it will fit perfectly. I may have to give up the idea of changing coloring and stick with the red.

Any other ideas or thoughts are much appreciated!
